They Shall Not Sleep By Night
Sex, romance, drama and horror combine in this first novel which spans 3 centuries from it's beginning in the Carpathean mountains to it's end in Victorian London. It is a vampire story told through the lives of 3 main characters, Xavier Dodrescu (Romanian peasant, vampire, lover), Wolfgang Schmidt (Austrian student, coven high priest, lover, soldier, vampire) and Margaret Baker (workhouse raised orphan, housemaid, prostitute). Set against a backdrop of rapidly changing world history, Schmidt's Catholic background and military service and Baker's upbringing and resultant sexual identity form the motivation for their actions as their destiny, shaped by demonic intervention, draws the characters together in London's East End for the violent finale.
Set at a time before fingerprinting and blood typing were available detection techniques, there are enough red herrings and sub plots to keep the reader guessing right up to the last page.
The book contains adult erotica and violence throughout.

What a fantastic imaginative mind Peyton L. Summers has. "They Shall Not Sleep by Night" kept me spellbound and had me continuously turning page after page. I loved how all characters were introduced at the beginning, rather than interspersed throughout the chapters, very ingenious of the author. "They Shall Not Sleep by Night" is filled with such intense sexual erotic scenes that left this reader breathing quite heavily.
I for one cannot wait for the next book by Peyton L. Summers!
They Shall Not Sleep by Night, comes with the added bonus of creative character and plot. There was enough historical detail and flow of the plot to keep my interest, without becoming dull. I can say there is sex! And most importantly, lots of original idea's for the erotic scenes,leaving me with a smile on my face and a raised eyebrow on occasion.(always very good-trust me) I loved the two Irish guys, Rourke and Leary and the prositute Margaret Baker who came in at the begining with her very first line and made me laugh out loud. I'd of liked to have seen more of that. The over all pace of the book was fluid, up until the final part which seemed a little rushed, but left me wanting more. Again a good thing as I am aware there is to be a sequal. If you like Erotica - Pick up a copy of They Shall Not Sleep by Night
A must read for those that love a tantalizing, sexy, chill provoking vampire tale to heighten and tease the imagination. Absolutely Stunning!
Peyton has done a wonderful job turning the character of Margaret Baker into a full-blooded, all-around woman whom the reader can get a good feel for. Someone you can really "sink your teeth into." She brings the era to life with details of world events at the time. And with the character of Margaret, she's left me waiting (hopefully) for more in the series.
OUTSTANDING!!!!! BRAVO!!!! GREAT STORY!!!! P. L. Summers is one talented writer! I can see lots of work went into this and the historical parts are great. I enjoyed it very much. It's definitely a great read, a page turner from start to finish. It has all the plot, mystery and intrigue as well as history and the sex was hot.
IT WAS AWESOME AND DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER I HAVE READ..IT DOESN'T HAVE ALL THE BORING PARTS LIKE TOO LONG DESCRIBING PLACES, AND I LOVE WHEN AUTHORS DO KNOW AND TRY TO GET HISTORY RIGHT...I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT...
I thoroughly enjoyed this read. I love the way Peyton wove the threads of his novels together to create the full story in one novel. I really enjoyed the historical content of it, and think he did a great job of making the history of the years come alive. He brings his characters alive and gives them depth and character. I look forward to Peyton's next creation with great expectations!

This author is amazing with all the detail and the way you are pulled into every word. My favorite part of the book is when Bifrons is summoned and trapped inside the priests body. I recommend this book and all of Peyton L. Summers' books to anyone who has a curiosity about the "dark" side of things. Another well written book!
